TRAINING NIGHT INFORMATION

​

Time: 1830-2130

Location: St. Francis Xavier Secondary School

50 Bristol Rd W, Mississauga, ON L5R 3K3

Dress: Cadet Uniform 

Squadron T-shirts, Black Pants and Black shoes( for those who do not have a uniform) 

Recruits: White Shirt, Black Pants, Black Shoes

  • Cadets are to be dropped off in the side parking lot and are to walk to the front doors.  The parking in the front of the school is for Staff and SSC ONLY

  • No cadets are to be in the building until an OFFICER is present

  • Cadets are to bring their health card to every cadet event

  • Parents and Visitors are not allowed to be in the school at this time.

  • No food or drinks are allowed in the building, with the exception of a water bottle.

Most Improved Cadet

The FSgt Jack Gray Memorial Award is presented to the cadet who makes the most progressive changes during the training year to reflect the attributes and values of the Air Cadet Movement.

​

Achievement Awards

Presented to the cadet or cadets in each training level who meet or exceed the standards within the training level.  This includes academic achievement as well as setting the example for their peers and being a positive ambassador for the Squadron and the Air Cadet movement as a whole.

Top Overall Cadet

The Lt R. Hampton Gray, VC Memorial Award is presented to the Top Overall Cadet (open to all cadets) who exemplifies the high standards of 789 Squadron and the aims of the Air Cadet Movement.

Legion Medal of Excellence 

Awarded to the cadet who exceeds the standards for training, community service and leadership—and works selflessly with cadets to develop and enhance the image of the cadet organization.

​

Lord Strathcona Medal 

The highest award which can be bestowed upon a cadet in recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training.

​

The Anna Lesiw Award for Initiative and Enthusiasm 

Presented to the cadet who, regardless of rank, through his

or her active attendance and participation over the course of

the year, has demonstrated the most initiative and

enthusiasm in the betterment of the Squadron (ie,

Fundraising, community & public relations, overall efficiency, teams, etc).
