Location: St. Joseph’s Secondary School
5555 Creditview Road, Mississauga Ontario
Dress: Cadet Uniform
Squadron T-Shirts, Black Pants and Black shoes( for those who do not have a uniform)
Recruits: White Shirt, Black Pants, Black Shoes
We are happy to announce that we have been granted permission
to use the school for 2022-2023.

Cadets are to be dropped off in the side parking lot and are to walk to the front doors. The parking in the front of the school is for Staff and SSC ONLY

No cadets are to be in the building until an OFFICER is present

Cadets are to bring their health card to every cadet event

Parents and Visitors are not allowed to be in the school at this time.

No food or drinks are allowed in the building, with the exception of a water bottle.

SQUADRON AWARDS
Most Improved Cadet
The FSgt Jack Gray Memorial Award is presented to the cadet who makes the most progressive changes during the training year to reflect the attributes and values of the Air Cadet Movement.
Top Shot
The Top Shot award goes to the cadet who achieves consistently top marks on the Range Team and competitions.
Top Band Member
The Top Band Member award goes to the Band Member who best displays the attributes, initiative, leadership and dress and deportment required in the Band. They have worked selflessly with the Band to develop and enhance the image of the Squadron Band.
Most Improved Band Member
The most improved Band Member award is presented to the Band Member(s) who have shown consistent improvement over the training year. This is reflected in their drill, dress, and deportment.
Top Drill Team Member
The Top Drill Team Member award is presented to the Drill team Member who best displays the attributes, initiative, leadership and dress and deportment required for a drill team member. They worked selflessly with the Drill team to develop and enhance the image of the squadron drill team.
Most Improved Drill Team Member
The Most Improved Drill Team Member award, Presented to the Drill Team member(s) who have shown consistent improvement over the training year as reflected in their drill, dress and deportment.
Achievement Awards
Presented to the cadet or cadets in each training level who meet or exceed the standards within the training level. This includes academic achievement as well as setting the example for their peers and being a positive ambassador for the Squadron and the Air Cadet movement as a whole.

Top Overall Cadet
The Lt R. Hampton Gray, VC Memorial Award is presented to the Top Overall Cadet (open to all cadets) who exemplifies the high standards of 789 Squadron and the aims of the Air Cadet Movement.
Legion Medal of Excellence
Awarded to the cadet who exceeds the standards for training, community service and leadership—and works selflessly with cadets to develop and enhance the image of the cadet organization.
Lord Strathcona Medal
The highest award which can be bestowed upon a cadet in recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training.
The Anna Lesiw Award for Initiative and Enthusiasm
Presented to the cadet who, regardless of rank, through his
or her active attendance and participation over the course of
the year, has demonstrated the most initiative and
enthusiasm in the betterment of the Squadron (ie,
Fundraising, community & public relations, overall efficiency, teams, etc).
Top Sports Team Junior
Awarded to a cadet who is FCpl or below, who commits to
the team as evident from their attendance, and effort at all
practices and competitions.
Top Sports Team Senior
Awarded to a cadet who is Sgt or above, who commits to the
team as evident from their attendance, and effort at all
practices and competitions.
